The pale blue dot

Carl Sagan was an American astronomer, astrophysicist, cosmologist, writer and scientist. He became a popular figure for his science books and, above all, for the television documental series ‘Cosmos: a Personal Journey’, which he narrated and co-wrote.

Here, we can enjoy an excerpt of the series, in which he talks, with a contagious passion, about the first picture of the Earth taken from the outer space, while the Voyager 2 leaved the Solar System, and the humbling experience it is to realize that the whole history of humanity, with its joys and miseries, has taken place in ‘that pale blue dot’.
