WHAT ABOUT: The future by Carmen Vicente

‘The future is a return to the land’.

Medicine woman of the border between Ecuador and Peru, she carries the Sacred Art of the Altars and is the Guardian of the Sacred Fire of Itzachilatlan. For 50 years she has advocated the autonomy of traditional teachings and practices from the Andes. She has worked with people of the Amazon, street dwellers and prison population of Quito, Ecuador. Her current work is focused on women, youth in urban areas and on research on the role and relationships between the genders, with activity in several countries such as Chile, Argentina, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, Colombia, United States, Spain, Portugal , Canada, Germany, Israel, Netherlands and England.

Este documental obtuvo un gran éxito que se tradujo en la obtención de varios premios y una gran difusión y repercusión mundial. Su trabajo ha conseguido llamar la atención de la comunidad educativa, pero también ha logrado el reconocimiento de otros sectores que pueden parecer más alejados, como el de la salud.'Happiness always comes from the connection between human beings'. His work has gotten the attention of the education community, but has also achieved recognition from other sectors that may seem further away, such as health."
